Why do we invite Jeffrey?
Jeffrey Huang, as a professor of architecture and digital media has a tremendously good vision about how both could mix and how the combination of physical architecture and information structures can support integrated offline and online processes for knowledge and learning communities. His research is very insightful and geared towards the understanding of what will happen in digital architecture.
Who should attend his talk?
Anybody who wants to discover how architecture and digital media are intricately related.
Open design; is democratization of design inevitable? if so, can you imagine architecture without architects (everyone is an architect), a museum without curator (everyone is a curator), a classroom without teacher (everyone is a teacher), a conference without speaker (everyone is a speaker)?
In condensed 10+20 minutes, we discuss open design; the radical reversal of roles and shift of authorships.
We look at examples of interactive cities, mega universities, responsive buildings, talking furniture as the physical equivalent to the wikipedia, ohmynews, and blogspheres of the virtual world and the oulipo, duchamps, nouveau realism, improve theatre and fluxus of the past. we view them as harbinger for the future of open design.
