Ausland Ventures specialises in projects that unite art and architecture. The company is run by Sophie Bouvier Ausländer and Emmanuel Ventura.

Notably, Ausland Ventures develops projects involving programmable and downloadable smart fabrics under the brand name Expertex.

For a number of years, Sophie Bouvier Ausländer has focussed her work as a visual artist on the theme "feeling and knowledge", using a variety of techniques and producing works of art based on maps (geographical, urban, political and anatomical), language and communication.

Sophie Bouvier Ausländer was born in Lausanne in 1970. She obtained a postgraduate diploma from St. Martin's College of Art and Design, London, where she was awarded a distinction for her research on smart fabrics with programmable, downloadable behaviours.
