Thorsten has over five years of experience in communicating sustainable development and CSR as Communications Manager for the World Business Council of Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the WBCSD is a coalition of some 180 companies united by a shared commitment to sustainable development through economic growth, ecological balance and social progress. Among its members are well-known multinationals such as Shell, BP, Sony, DuPont and Unilever. Thorsten is responsible for all operational aspects of the WBCSD's communication; he also manages the WBCSD website (www.wbcsd.org), which has been rated the "best website for information on sustainable development" by Globvescan's 2003, 2004 & 2006 Survey's of Sustainability Experts. A political scientist by training, he began his career working on knowledge and information management issues at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York.
