About the Lift Community

Lift is a community of pioneers who explore the social implications of new technologies. We aim to turn innovation into opportunity by anticipating the major shifts ahead, and connect the people who drive them. We work together to identify, anticipate and shape the current and emerging usages of digital technologies.

The community meets in person at the Lift conferences and at other events organized by our members all over the world. We also share and debate tech innovation on the Lift blog.

We believe that diversity is the key to innovation; Over the years we have learned that connecting pioneers from various backgrounds - entrepreneurs, researchers, students, artists, managers and business people - in a relaxed and inspiring environment fuels creativity and idea generation.

As a result of our conferences, which were launched in 2006: several start-ups have been launched, important projects have been initiated, funding has been secured, new jobs have been created and found, partnerships and friendships started (we won’t even mention the love stories here, that’s a whole different discussion :)

The surveys conducted since 2007 by an independent company (OwlRe) state that on average:

• 20% of Lift participants get new business during the conference
• 45% establish interesting contacts that may generate new business
