Due to small number of attendees I decided to cancel the workshop for now.
What do I get if I sign in?
An better insight in the value of communities of practice, and how this approach can give your company or educational institute a boost on fun and learning.
Why should I be interested?
We all have to take the challenge on creating interesting environments to get young people to have fun working and learning. Otherwise they will just run. Really.
How does this fit inside "technology in society?"
Good one. The technology of the web is changing our society. What else is new you say... I really feel we tend to forget a very important group in this: children and students that are craving for good use of technology in education. On the other side of the line educators are running scared of technology taking away Old Skool chalkboards and books...
Sounds like it is quite educational oriented
Yep it is. But here is the catch. Learning = fun = learning. If you're running a company and you see your social capital leaving, you have failed creating an environment that is fun. So you'd better find some way to get your people back to learning again...
What are we doing in this 3 hours?
Well, first we get to know each other a little. After that we make a inventory of questions and goals of the participants.
Introduction + presentation
After a short presentation on the experiences of working within Communities of Practice I'm sure you have questions. I'd be happy to answer.
Discussion
I'd like to drop a few propositions and have a discussion after that. If you have a interesting proposition yourself, drop a response down here, or contact me!
When will the working in the workshop start?
Right after that. We will try to match everyone sharing questions and goals in to smaller groups. Provided the key elements of a CoP, and the results of the discussion the groups start thinking on an approach suitable for their own environments. Everyone group will present its ideas on the end, and other groups will give feedback.
What will I take back home
Hopefully some new insights and fresh inspiration to start experimenting with communities of practice in your organization. Taking for granted that a few people are coming, you leave with the business cards of people who are sharing your problems and ideas.
Sounds cool, But I'm missing something...
Drop a message! If you have some interesting resources, links, theories, experience yourself please share.
