The World Women's Forum, hosted by MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation) with support of the Ministry of Gender Equality & Family, is an integral element in the broadcaster's yearlong campaign, "Woman Power-The Future of Korea," which has included a wide range of programs and campaigns aimed at empowering women in Korea and abroad.
Over the past several years, we have seen the status of women in Korean society make astonishing progress. Korea has for the first time in its history a female Prime Minister, while vigorous efforts to adopt comprehensive plans for the advancement of women have received positive feedback from the international community. Despite such tremendous strides, there is significant room for improvement, which we remain steadfastly dedicated to achieving.
