Pathologically busy creative practitioner in the space between making, culture, community and emerging technology.
My background is various. Based in Toronto. BFA from OCAD, specializing in Jewellery and Material Culture. Residencies and studio practice since 2002. Exhibitions, curating, writing, teaching, mucking about. MacGuyver is my spirit animal.
My research focus at the Beal Institute for Strategic Creativity (05-07) dealt with knowledge, relationships and communities - how they’re changing, what they’re learning, why they’re motivated to, etc. Also - Research Lead with Alexander Manu on his recent book “The Imagination Challenge: Strategic Foresight and Innovation in the Global Economy”
Involved in Toronto’s BarCamp community, and I’m a strong advocate for play, open practice, conversations and searching for ways to make the impossible possible. My inner magpie is always searching for ways to push the conversation.
