We live in an era of hyper-innovation where anything is possible. In such times it is important to rapidly think through one's business model. In this open stage talk I will quickly outline a relatively popular method we have come up with to achieve rapid business model prototyping. It is a simple approach that allows you to sketch out all the elements required to design a business model. It's a must-have in the entrepreneur's and innovator's thinking toolkit.

To come back on the

To come back on the importance of business model innovation. Among the CEO 2006 study's findings:

* Business model innovation is becoming the new strategic differentiator. "The business model we choose will determine the success or failure of our strategy," one study participant said. In contrast to the findings of the 2004 survey, innovation in the enterprise's business model garnered nearly as much attention as innovation in a company's core processes and functions.
* Business model innovation can pay off. In the financial analysis for the study, companies that have grown their operating margins faster than their competitors were putting twice as much emphasis on business model innovation as underperformers.

Hi Alexander, sounds great

Hi Alexander, sounds great to me. I've always been interested in business model innovation. In addition, it is probably the most successful type of innovation (IBM's Global CEO Study, 2006). I'd like to see how your approach frames the new models that are popping up in very different places right now. How is the tool built-up? An overview of different business models, a roadmap, a decision-making model, a checklist... looking forward to it!
